TRA participates in World Radiocommunication Conference

Dubai, Nov. 22 (BNA): The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) participated in the opening of the four-week-long World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-23) hosted by the United Arab Emirates.

Organised by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) every four years, the WRC is among the most important industry events, attracting approximately 4,000 participants including representatives of member states, international organizations, and manufacturers.

Seeing its participation as an opportunity to support global cooperation and the advancement of radiocommunications in Bahrain, the TRA is actively contributing to discussions, workshops, and sessions focused on the latest technologies and advancements. The Bahraini delegation is also playing a pivotal role in representing the Arab Spectrum Group in the fourth and fifth work committees of the ITU’s Radiocommunications Assembly (RA-23), as well as in being a part of the team overseeing the election process.

The conference will see the signing of an international treaty governing the use of the radio frequency spectrum. The TRA has worked diligently towards the optimization of frequency spectrum usage, aligning it with the Kingdom’s requirements, and promoting sustainable advancements in the radiocommunications sector.
