New environment law to go into force September 15

Manama, September 14 (BNA) The Supreme Council for the Environment announced that Law (7) of 2022 on the environment will enter into force as of tomorrow, Thursday, September 15.


The council indicated that the new environment law aims to protect the environment and its sources from all activities and practices that cause pollution and deteriorate the environment and biodiversity.


The law also aims to preserve and develop environmental resources to serve the goals of sustainable development and biodiversity within the territorial borders of the Kingdom of Bahrain. It includes 125 articles that resulted from the tireless work of those who contributed to the modernization of the draft environment law through fruitful cooperation between the executive and legislative branches.


The Council called on all relevant parties, companies and individuals to cooperate more to advance environmental work and achieve the desired goals.
