NBB supports HH Khalid Bin Hamad’s initiative With Smile for Children with Cancer

Manama, February 14 (BNA) His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Athletics Federation, praised the distinguished efforts made by the National Bank of Bahrain in achieving its goals. His Highness’ initiatives that support the social welfare of the Kingdom through continuous humanitarian efforts.

Commenting on this initiative, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa said: “We are pleased with the efforts of the National Bank of Bahrain in supporting our various initiatives, especially humanitarian and community initiatives. Launching an initiative with a smile for children with cancer aims to provide the necessary support to children with cancer, which goes beyond our personal endeavors and includes our national responsibility as individuals, institutes and organizations towards providing children with moral and social support to help them on their journey forward. Through this initiative, we will be able to fulfill the dreams of these children and help their parents during this difficult time. Our goal is to put a smile on children’s faces and encourage everyone to become part of a nation-wide initiative.”

The National Bank of Bahrain announced its support for the KHK initiative with a smile for children with cancer as part of His Highness’ initiatives to support social welfare in the Kingdom through continuous humanitarian efforts. The endeavor aims to provide psychological and social support to children with cancer in the Kingdom.

In line with the Bank’s ongoing community investment strategy, the initiative focuses on realizing the dreams of children with cancer. Immediately after receiving a message from each child expressing their dreams, a video call started in coordination with the child’s parents and His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa to inform the child that his dream had come true.

The Smile Initiative aims to provide support, hope and optimism to children and raise morale in their time of need. This humanitarian act brings a temporary respite from the situation, providing joy for both parent and child during this difficult time, as children continue their path to recovery.

For his part, Fawzi Kanoo, Second Vice President of the National Bank of Bahrain and member of the Donations and Contributions Committee of the Board of Directors, said: “We are proud to be a continuous supporter of the ongoing community initiatives in the Kingdom that enable us to realize the dreams of children, no matter what.
