National Guard Commander meets with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff

Rawalpindi, Mar. 13 (BNA): The Commander of the National Guard, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, met the Chief of Staff of the Pakistani Army, General Asim Munir, in his office at the General Command of the Pakistani Armed Forces in Rawalpindi.


Lieutenant General Asim Mounir welcomed His Highness Sheikh, thanking him for accepting the invitation and participating in Pakistan’s Republic Day celebrations.


The commander of the National Guard praised the cooperation and exchange of experiences between the two sides, stressing the keenness to consolidate bilateral relations.


The two sides discussed issues of common interest and ways to enhance coordination between the National Guard and the Pakistan Army. They also highlighted regional and international issues of common interest.


The commander of the National Guard had arrived in Islamabad earlier on an official visit at the invitation of Major General Asim Munir to participate as a “guest of honor” in the celebrations of Pakistan’s Republic Day.


His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa was received upon his arrival at the Noor Khan military base in Rawalpindi, senior officers of the Pakistani army, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Pakistan, Mohammed Ibrahim Mohammed, and the staff of the embassy.
