National Commission for Childhood holds meeting

Manama, Mar. 17 (BNA): The Bahrain National Childhood Committee, which was recently reconstituted, held its first meeting.


The Minister of Social Development, Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, chaired the session, which focused on the priorities of the committee and the roles of its members.


Also on the agenda were developments in the Restorative Justice for Children Act and their protection from abuse, in addition to a number of topics.


The minister affirmed the government’s keenness to advance and improve aspects of comprehensive care provided to children, indicating efforts to achieve more national gains and achievements, guarantee children’s rights, and create a suitable and safe environment for them.


He valued the decree issued by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to form the National Committee for Childhood.
