NAO participates in GCC meeting

Manama, September 20 (BNA) The Deputy Auditor General of the National Audit Office, Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa, participated in the twenty-third meeting of the agents of the Supreme Audit Institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

The meeting, which was held virtually, discussed the draft strategic training plan for the next three years (2023-2025) prepared by the National Audit Office in Bahrain, as well as the training plan for 2023.


The participants were briefed on the results of the fifth competition of the Cooperation Council for Research and Studies in the field of auditing and accounting and the final drafts of the updated joint manuals on “audit of oil and gas entities”, “prior monitoring” and “audit”. Zakat and Tax Revenues” and preparation for the draft agenda of the nineteenth meeting of the heads of the regulatory bodies in the Gulf Cooperation Council, which is scheduled to be held on October 24 in Jeddah.


The draft training plan for 2023 includes 5 programs: “Indicators for measuring the performance of internal audit units”, “Health sector audit”, “Developments in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)”, “Auditing current in the era. Technology” and “Assessment of performance of plans” The strategy “.


The fifth Gulf competition for research and studies in the field of auditing and accounting included 3 topics: “Automation of audit work and its role in developing performance” and was won by Somaya Saleh Al-Meer and Maryam Ibrahim Talib from the Bahrain Internal Audit Office “The Role of Audit Bodies in Auditing in Times of Emergency Crisis” and “Auditing” performance of the sustainable development goals.
