Morocco defender Nayef Aguerd joins West Ham from Rennes

London, June 20 (BNA): Moroccan defender Nayef Ajurd joined West Ham from French club Rennes for 30 million pounds ($36.7 million) today, Monday.

The 26-year-old Aguerd will add competition to the centre-back’s positions and, as a left-footed player, may also fill the left-back position, according to the Associated Press.

West Ham need a deeper squad because they will play in the European competition again this season, this time in the European League. Last season, the Hammers were in the European League and reached the semi-finals.

Aguird was in Dijon, France, before moving to Rennes in 2020. He played 25 matches for Morocco and is set to play in the 2022 World Cup.
