Moderate earthquake hits central Indonesia

Jakarta, Nov. 21 (BNA) A 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck the province of East Nusa Tenggara in central Indonesia, the country’s meteorology, climatology and geophysics agency said.

The quake occurred at 20:49 local time (1349 GMT) with an epicenter 51 km southeast of Kupang city in the province and a depth of 49 km under the sea floor, the agency said.

She added that the earthquake did not cause a tsunami.
