• Key responsibilities will be reviewing bids and quotations, raising requests for information and having the ability to suggest value engineering options if required.
• Must have worked for a major MEP contractor in the past and have significant tendering/estimating experience.
• Coordination and close communication with the internal and external designers, the procurement department and the civil assessment team.
• Coordination and preparation of technical and commercial bids.
• Good knowledge of the estimating process, bidding, interpretation of drawings and specifications, floating inquiries, evaluation of bids, and pre- and post-bid activities.
• Ability to analyze commercial and technical quotations, prepare detailed cost comparison and conduct meetings and negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Ability to lead a team under pressure with firm deadlines, resistance to pressure, and excellent presentation and communication skills.
• At least 10-15 years of experience in a similar position, of which at least 5 years are in Qatar.
• Bachelor’s. in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
• Good knowledge of local requirements and standards.
• Good knowledge in MS Office, AutoCAD and preferably in any grading software: Primavera skills an advantage
• Fluent in English (speaking and writing), Arabic an advantage.
