WSP Middle East is currently looking for a Mechanical Resident Engineer to provide full support in all technical and administrative matters for the PMC Metro Project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Your new role, what is your role?
* Provide construction supervision oversight for the concerned pupil aspects of the project so that design documents are executed safely and correctly during construction implementation
* Ensure that the contractor meets the requirements of the construction contract in full
*Assist the construction manager in delivering contractual obligations and supervising the team of engineers/inspectors, reporting on project progress, quality of works and any design/construction changes
* Supervise assistant resident engineers (AREs), site engineers and works inspectors
* Establish site office, identify resources, organize supervision team and allocate HSE responsibilities, oversee cost control and document control procedures
* Ensuring that all required permits from all government agencies are insured, valid and announced on the site before starting work.
* Review insurance contracts, bonds and guarantee prepayment
* Review and implement all relevant project plans including construction program, quality assurance plan, quality control and organizational chart
* Evaluate, select and approve appropriate construction supervision techniques, quality control procedures, and continuous improvement procedures
* Review and respond to all claims submitted by the contractor
* Adopt a proactive safety policy and safe work practices; Ensure that the contractor follows high quality health and safety standards on site.
* Holding and chairing the workflow/safety meeting between the engineer and the contractor. Attend other regular meetings and with client executive management, as necessary.
* Review contractor submissions including materials, method statements, inspection and test plans, inspection requests, and requests for information (RFI) and provide timely responses.
* Review, respond and approve change orders and contractor monthly invoices.
* Coordination with all stakeholders in the facilities; Obtains material approvals/subcontracts by creating necessary correspondence and participates in finding solutions to all technical issues on site.
* Participates and ensures proper closure on all aspects of contracts.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
* Qualified with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an internationally recognized university with a minimum of five (5) years Certified Engineer or Professional Engineer (PE) registration or other similar professional organization
* Possess at least fifteen (15) years of postgraduate experience in design, site supervision and construction management for mixed-use projects, ideally metro and/or rail projects
