Mbappé slightly injured ahead of game against Real Madrid

Paris, March 7 (BNA): Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe injured his left foot during training on Monday, two days before the team traveled to Real Madrid to play a Champions League match.

The Ligue 1 club said Mbappe, who scored a goal in stoppage time in the first leg of the round of 16 against Real Madrid, was injured during Monday’s training but initial medical checks were reassuring.

PSG said Mbappe had received treatment and that his fitness would be reassessed on Tuesday. The match against Real Madrid is on Wednesday, according to the Associated Press.

Mbappe has been linked with a move to Real Madrid when his contract expires this year.

The World Cup champions have been in stellar form this season, scoring 24 goals and 17 assists in all competitions as PSG become increasingly dependent on their star player. Mbappe was suspended this weekend for a Ligue 1 match against Nice and PSG lost 1-0.

Paris Saint-Germain beat Real Madrid 1-0 in the first leg in Paris.
