The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation hosted the ceremony, which was held in the Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Hall on the campus of the University of Bahrain in Sakhir.
A total of 1,200 brides and grooms tied the knot during the mass wedding, making it the largest event of its kind in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The ceremony was also attended by the country’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Secretary-General of the Regional Office, Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed, and the Director-General of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, Muhammad Al-Khoury.
His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad praised the long relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
He praised the sincere efforts made by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation to support youth in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which reflects the strong bilateral relations.
He also expressed his congratulations to all the newlyweds, wishing them a happy and stable family life.
Al-Khouri praised the leadership role in the two countries for supporting collective weddings in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which reflects long-standing fraternal ties, noting that the number of beneficiaries of mass weddings has reached 8126 so far.
