Man United beats Leeds 2-0, moves to within five points of Arsenal

Leeds, Feb 13 (BNA): Marcus Rashford scored his 21st goal of the season in Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Leeds in the Premier League.

Substitute Alejandro Garnacho also scored as Erik ten Hag’s side moved within five points of leaders Arsenal, the Associated Press reports.

United’s title hopes were damaged by Leeds’ 2-2 draw at Old Trafford on Wednesday, but they made up for it by snatching three points at Elland Road.

Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Brentford on Saturday meant United had the chance to cut the London club’s lead and move into title contention.

Rashford has scored 13 goals in his last 15 games and is taking his side to the top of the table.

He broke the deadlock after 80 minutes with a 6-metre header and Garnacho made sure of victory five minutes later.

Wout Weghorst thought he had added a third goal, but that goal was ruled out for offside.

The win will fuel growing belief that United could mount an unexpected title challenge as they try to be crowned English champions for the first time since 2013.
