Manchester, May 31 (BNA): Pep Guardiola was named the best manager in the English Premier League today, Tuesday, after he led Manchester City to win the Premier League title.
Reuters reported that Guardiola led City to crowning the league title for the fifth time in six seasons, and that the club is preparing to face Manchester United in the FA Cup final on Saturday and Inter Milan in the Champions League final a week later.
“I am in a fantastic football club and without all the support I have received throughout my time here this would not have been possible,” Guardiola said in a club statement.
Guardiola overcame competition from Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Brighton & Hove Albion’s Roberto De Zerby, Newcastle United’s Eddie Howe, Burnley’s Vincent Kompany and Plymouth Argyle’s Steven Schumacher to win the LMA award.
