Maddison stars in Leicester’s 4-0 win over Newcastle in EPL

Manama, Dec. 12 (BNA): James Madison scored one goal and played a role in the other three as Leicester beat Newcastle 4-0 to keep the away team in the Premier League relegation zone on Sunday.

Yuri Tillmans, playing in his 100th Premier League game, scored twice and Batson Dhaka also scored, but Maddison stood out at King Power with a superb midfield performance that combined creativity and finishing ability.

Maddison stumbled into the penalty area from a penalty kick that Tillmans converted in the 38th minute to put Leicester ahead, according to the Associated Press.

He then made a superb pass with the outside of his boot sending Harvey Barnes away, with the winger having the simplest task to pass inside to Patson Dhaka to cash in on the empty net in the 57th minute.

Madison set the ball for Tillmans to score the third goal from close range in the 81st minute, then played a double goal with Dhaka before finishing the ball into the far corner in the 85th minute.

Madison was replaced with a standing ovation moments later. Newcastle’s closest goal to scoring was when Timothy Castagne’s pass nearly went into his line, only for goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel to defend back and swerve off the line.
