Lukaku stars on return home, Inter Milan beats Spezia 3-0

Milan, Aug. 21 (BNA): Romelu Lukaku starred in his first home game for Inter Milan since returning from Chelsea, helping his team beat Spezia 3-0 in two wins from two Serie A matches.

The Belgian striker scored two goals – scored in each half by Lautaro Martinez and Hakan Celhanoglu – and was applauded by local fans when he made way for Edin Dzeko in the 68th minute.

Dzeko set up his substitute fellow Joaquin Correa for the third goal in the 82nd minute.

Lukaku smashed his head off the bar before the break as he nearly added to his goal of Inter’s opening win over newly promoted Lecce last weekend, The Associated Press reports.

Inter dominated from the start but the home fans had to wait until the 35th minute for Martinez to shoot the opener. Nicolo Parilla sent a cross that Lukaku sent to the Argentine to fire his shot into the left post.

Lukaku was involved again in the 52nd minute when he passed one defender and faced five other players when he passed to Milan Skriniar. Skriniar’s return attempt was blocked, but she did not score a goal for Çalhanoğlu.

Also on Saturday, Domenico Berardi’s superb first-half goal was enough for Sassuolo to beat Lecce 1-0.

Udinese had sent off Nihuen Perez before the break, but goalkeeper Marco Silvestri denied visiting Salernitana in a goalless draw.

Lazio tied with Torino 0-0
