LMRA steps up inspection campaigns

Manama, Jan. 17 (BNA): The Labor Market Regulatory Authority and the Ministry of Interior continue to make joint efforts to intensify inspection campaigns against illegal practices in order to maintain a competitive, fair and stable labor market.

The Labor Market Regulatory Authority carried out an inspection campaign in Muharraq in coordination with the General Directorate for Crime Detection and Criminal Evidence and the General Directorate for Enforcement of Sentences and Issuance of Alternative Sentences

Another campaign was also implemented in the Southern Governorate, in coordination with the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Criminal Evidence at the Ministry of Interior.

A third campaign was implemented in the Northern Governorate in coordination with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs and the Governorate Police Directorate, in addition to a campaign carried out by the Implementation Sector of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority in the Capital Governorate.

The campaigns resulted in reports of violations of labor market and residency laws. The reported cases were referred for legal action.

The Labor Market Regulatory Authority affirmed its commitment to reporting violations through an extensive inspection plan, in coordination with the relevant government agencies.

And she renewed her call to all members of society to support the efforts of government agencies in addressing illegal labor practices, by reporting violations via the electronic form on the authority’s website www.lmra.bh or calling the authority’s call center at 17506055.
