LMRA steps up inspection campaigns

Manama, October 30 (BNA) The Labor Market Regulatory Authority announced that a number of illegal expatriate workers are scheduled to be deported in compliance with the law.

The violators were arrested during a crackdown carried out in the Muharraq Governorate by the Labor Inspection Directorate of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority in cooperation with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs and the Muharraq Governorate Police Directorate.

The joint inspection campaign aims to ensure that migrant workers comply with the regulations of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority and the residency law in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The authority announced in a statement today that it will intensify inspections in cooperation with the competent authorities, as part of joint efforts with the Ministry of Interior.

LMRA inspectors will continue to scrutinize commercial records across the country to crack down on any illegal practices that harm the labor market.

Complaints related to the labor market or illegal expatriate workers can be reported through the Labor Market Regulatory Authority call center 17506055.
