LMRA refers 83 cases to the Public Prosecution

Manama, October 19 (BNA) The Labor Market Regulatory Authority announced the referral of 83 cases related to illegal labor practices to the Public Prosecution, after intensive joint inspection campaigns launched in various governorates.

The campaigns were launched after the decision to replace the flexible permit system.

The Labor Market Regulatory Authority affirmed its commitment to providing the appropriate environment for expatriate workers while preserving their rights and increasing the effectiveness of their role in economic development.

She stressed that she will continue to respect the law and take action against all violators. It called on employers to abide by the established controls and not to employ any migrant worker until their work permit is issued.

It urged employers not to obtain and keep work permits without the need for them, stressing that trial periods will not be allowed before completing the procedures for issuing a work permit.

It noted the necessity for the expatriate worker to work in the workplace referred to in the permit or in other branches of the employer that engage in the same activity.

It is worth mentioning that the Labor Market Regulation Law No. (19) of 2006 stipulates that the expatriate is prohibited from practicing any work in the Kingdom without the issuance of the appropriate work permit, and employers are also prohibited from employing expatriate workers. before obtaining a work permit.
