LMRA conducts inspection campaign in Muharraq; takes legal actions against violators

Manama, Jan. 18 (BNA) The Labor Market Regulatory Authority, represented by the Law Enforcement Sector, carried out yesterday an inspection campaign in Muharraq Governorate in cooperation with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs in Muharraq Governorate. The Ministry of Interior and the Muharraq Governorate Police Directorate.

The campaign, which included a number of work sites in the governorate, resulted in the monitoring of a number of violations related to the provisions of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority Law and the Residency Law in the Kingdom. As a result, a number of workers violating regulations and laws were arrested, and measures were taken to deport them in accordance with the applicable legal mechanisms.

The Director of Labor Inspection at the Labor Market Regulatory Authority, Hamad Faisal Al Mulla, indicated that this campaign is in line with the continuous intensive efforts of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and relevant government agencies to improve the work environment and confront all negative practices that negatively affect employment. Al-Mulla stressed the importance of society’s important role in strengthening the efforts and endeavors made by the authorities to enhance social welfare and achieve health and economic stability.

The Director of Investigation and Follow-up at the General Authority for Environmental Control, Colonel Talal Nabil, indicated that joint inspections are continuing in cooperation with government authorities to reveal commercial records in all governorates that misuse work permits, in addition to ensuring compliance with the labor market regulator’s residency laws and regulations. Colonel Talal Nabil stressed the important role that society plays in strengthening the efforts of government authorities in combating illegal practices, calling on the public to report any complaint in this regard.
