LMRA: Action taken against unlicensed establishment acting as employment office

Manama, October 11 (BNA): The Labor Market Regulatory Authority, in cooperation with the General Department of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Sciences at the Ministry of Interior, has identified an unlicensed institution operating as an employment office (manpower).

The institution is facilitating the entry of expats into Bahrain, while promising false high-paying jobs, which in turn makes them vulnerable to exploitation.

The Labor Market Regulatory Authority revealed that the institution published many fake job opportunities on various social media platforms, and then facilitated the entry of expatriates to the Kingdom in exchange for money.

The unlicensed institution was tracked and the Labor Market Regulatory Authority took the necessary measures, before referring it to the Public Prosecution for further legal action.

The Labor Market Regulatory Authority has reaffirmed its commitment to monitor the labor market by documenting any illegal business activity, in order to ensure that non-compliant businesses are addressed.

He urged the public to cooperate with government agencies by refraining from dealing with unlicensed employment offices.
