Leicester beaten by Fulham 5-3, mired in relegation danger

London, May 8 (BNA): Leicester remained mired in relegation troubles in the English Premier League after conceding four goals in the first 51 minutes and losing to Fulham 5-3 in a wild match on Monday.

Leicester’s side impressed with their goal difference and confidence at Craven Cottage, with Willian and Tom Cairney scoring goals for Fulham along with a Carlos Vinicius goal, reports the Associated Press.

The visitors made a comeback from 4–0 down, with Harvey Barnes and James Maddison – from the penalty spot – scoring Willian’s second goal, a long-range volley that was probably the goal of the match. Barnes added his second goal in the 89th minute to seal an all out encounter.

Jamie Vardy saved a penalty for Leicester, who started the match in the bottom three only on goal difference and could end up at the end of Monday due to the delays of rivals Everton and Nottingham Forest.

Leicester’s remaining three matches don’t make for pleasant reading, be it Liverpool at home, Newcastle away and West Ham at home.

The Fulham players have shown they are not short of motivation despite having little to play for, with the London side finishing 10th and unlikely to qualify for Europe.
