Ledger stone at queen’s final resting place revealed

London, Sept 25 (BUS): Buckingham Palace has released an image that gives the first overview of the new ledger stone installed at the final resting place of Queen Elizabeth II.

The photo shows a hand-carved Belgian black marble slab with copper lettering inlays installed in the floor of King George VI’s memorial chapel, St. George’s Chapel, at Windsor Castle in Windsor, England, The Associated Press reports.

Surrounding him are wreaths and bouquets of flowers inscribed with her name and the years of her birth and death alongside her father, George VI; Her mother is Elizabeth. and her husband, Philip, who died last year. It replaces an earlier tablet that had only her parents.

All four members of the royal family were members of the Order of the Rabat, of which St. George’s Church has a spiritual home.

The release came ahead of the opening of the Queen’s burial site to visitors next week with Windsor Castle reopening to the public.

Elizabeth was buried with the Duke of Edinburgh on Monday evening at a private mass attended by King Charles III and other members of the royal family, after her state funeral at Westminster Abbey and commissioning service in Windsor.
