Large explosion outside Mogadishu airport, at least 8 killed

Mogadishu, Jan. 12 (BNA) A local doctor said that a large explosion outside the international airport in the Somali capital killed at least eight people and wounded nine others today, Wednesday.

Dr. Abdelkader Adam shared the death toll with Medina Hospital with the Associated Press (AP). The Associated Press reported that witnesses at the scene said a UN convoy appeared to have been the target of the Mogadishu explosion near a checkpoint leading to the heavily fortified airport.
