Labour Minister: payouts to be disbursed to recipients on March 15

Manama, March 14 (BNA) The Minister of Labor and Social Development, Jamil bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan, affirmed the government’s keenness to improve the standard of living of citizens.

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa praised his royal patronage, praising the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He praised the directives of His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister to double the distribution of social assistance allocations to beneficiaries of social security and disability pension during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to figures issued by the minister, this step will benefit about 17,000 Bahraini families who are beneficiaries of social allowances, as well as up to 13,000 people with physical disabilities registered with the ministry.

The minister explained that a budget exceeding 6 million dinars has been allocated to implement the directives of His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister, adding that the payments will be disbursed by the middle of next March with the approach of the blessed month of Ramadan.

Humaidan announced that the payments will be deposited in the beneficiaries’ bank accounts tomorrow (March 15), adding that the amounts will also include a 10% increase in financial support for low-income families and social security beneficiaries.

The government revised the distribution of social security and financial support to low-income individuals in January 2022 by increasing financial support to low-income families and social security recipients by 10%.
