Kuwait Crown Prince honors iGA CEO

Manama, June 28 (BNA) His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait, honored His Highness Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Information and e-Government Authority on behalf of the Emir of Kuwait. (Information and e-Government Authority) Chief Executive Officer, Muhammad Ali Al-Qaed for his participation as a judge in the Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award for 2022. This is the fifth time he has taken the helm in the 20-year competition. .


The Leader expressed his pride in this honor and his appreciation to the Board of Trustees of the award, headed by Sheikha Aida Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah, for their confidence in choosing him as a member of the jury, which includes a selection of heads of bodies and former ministers in the field of informatics.


The Leader congratulated the organizers of the award on the twentieth anniversary of its establishment, expressing his hope that its impact will continue to motivate the Gulf Cooperation Council and Arab countries to exchange innovative ideas and initiatives aimed at empowering the information technology industry in the region.


He added that the Information and eGovernment Authority is committed to participating in the award because of its important role in encouraging Arab societies to adopt digital initiatives and raising awareness of how to overcome related challenges. The Information and eGovernment Authority participated in the award from 2014 until the 19th edition in 2020, where many of its projects won during this period. The national portal bahrain.bh took first place in the Websites category in 2014. The Leader received a Bronze Medal and Voluntary Shield for his participation as a Judge in 2018. In 2019, the National Complaints and Suggestions System (Tawasul) won the award for being one of the best technology projects in the competition .

The Leader praised all the projects participating in the twentieth session of the award, which was held under the slogan (Best Technology Projects). He wished more success for the competition, and congratulated the winning participants from Bahrain, including the General Traffic Department for the electronic traffic project and the Ministry of Education for the Edu NET network, which is considered among the achievements at the regional level.


On the sidelines of the ceremony, an exhibition was held that included a presentation of the award’s achievements since its launch in 2001, details and photos of 14 winners, and statistics on 332 winning entities from 12 Arab countries over the past twenty years.
