King Hamad Youth Empowerment Award to Achieve SDGs winners honoured

Manama, Nov. 27 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today assigned His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to honor the winners of the “King Hamad Youth Empowerment Award”. Award for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals.

His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his speech at the awards ceremony attended by ministers and officials, expressed his pride in being authorized by His Majesty the King to attend the ceremony on behalf of His Majesty, noting that this prestigious award reflects the belief of His Majesty King Hamad in the capabilities of youth. The world, which has become the origin of the world’s future, and which has contributed to the emergence of a Bahraini and international youth force capable of defining world priorities and presenting creative ideas that contribute to drawing a road map for implementing the sustainable development goals agreed upon by all world leaders.

His Highness Sheikh Nasser affirmed that the award contributed to making the voice of youth heard globally, citing the statistics of the organizing committee, which indicated that up to 6,176 participants from 122 countries presented their own projects emanating from their own ideas.

His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa congratulated the award winners, highly appreciating the tremendous efforts they made to enrich the process of sustainable development.

His Highness also praised the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, the United Nations Development Program in Bahrain, and members of the supreme and preliminary arbitration committees for the award for their close cooperation that contributed to ensuring the success of the initiative.

A member of the award’s jury, Noman Al-Sayyad, delivered a statement expressing his thanks and appreciation to His Majesty the King for his sponsorship of the award, which, according to him, testifies to the royal support for youth locally and globally.

He emphasized that His Highness Sheikh Nasser’s relentless follow-up contributed to the success of the award at the international level, citing the participation of contestants from 122 countries from different continents, indicating that the award reflects Bahrain’s commitment to urging countries, youth and organizations to do their work. He added that the award’s jury includes professional, globally recognized, fair and transparent judges.

He also expressed his thanks to the Ministry of Youth work team for their fruitful cooperation with the jury.
