Manama, October 24 (BNA) The Bahrain Golf Association announced that the 13th King Hamad International Golf Championship will be held from November 24 to 27 under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The royal sponsorship aims to encourage the establishment of international tournaments in the Kingdom of Bahrain and raise the level of golf players to achieve distinguished achievements and enhance the Kingdom’s position in Arab and international forums.

The BGA has started preparations for the event in coordination with the relevant authorities to ensure the success of the tournament. The Arab, Asian and European federations were contacted to reveal the names of the players who will participate and compete for the cup.

Sponsored by Batelco since its launch in 2007, the tournament has been successful in attracting famous professional golfers who have participated in European and Asian Championships. It has also become an element of tourism investment in the sports field.

The tournament was postponed last year due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. The BGA expressed its readiness to ensure compliance with all precautionary measures put in place by the National Singles Championships Task Force.
