Khalid bin Hamad: Looking forward benefiting from artificial intelligence in developing the sports system

Manama, November 2 (BNA) The Bahrain International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Sports opened today under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the General Assembly. A total of 220 participants representing 21 countries participated in the conference organized by the General Sports Authority in cooperation with the Nasser Center for Vocational Training and the International Group for Artificial Intelligence.

In an opening speech, His Highness said, “We are pleased to participate with you in this conference, which sheds light on one of the most important modern innovations, which is artificial intelligence and its positive repercussions on the development of humanity and societies.”

“We look forward to achieving important results and achieving the previously set goals to harness this field to serve the sports system in the Kingdom.”

“We have been keen to include artificial intelligence as part of our initiatives that are designed to translate the instructions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to enhance the Kingdom’s role as a leading country and a leading country in supporting various programs that achieve sustainability and contribute to the growth of all areas of life.”

“The accelerated pace that we are witnessing worldwide in the use of this technology reflects the great results of this scientific revolution in many fields. Today, we are working to implement plans and strategies that aim to benefit from artificial intelligence and employ it in supporting the sports industry in the Kingdom.”

He thanked the General Sports Authority for the great efforts it had made in coordination with the Nasser Center for Vocational Training and the International Group of Artificial Intelligence to prepare for holding this event, which will have a positive impact in consolidating Bahrain’s position as a leading center for major events.

The event witnessed the attendance of many prominent personalities, including Dr. Abdul Rahman Sadeq Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority, Dr. Abdullah Al Nuaimi, President of Nasser Vocational Training Center, and Dr. Jassim Haji, President of the International Group for Artificial Intelligence.

It is worth noting that the conference discussed the steps taken by the General Sports Authority to effectively use artificial intelligence in developing administrative and technical work to contribute to the realization of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
