Justice Ministry, BAB support growth of financial services sector

Manama, May 15 (BNA): Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Nawaf bin Mohammed Al-Maawda, met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Association of Banks, Adnan Ahmed Yousef.

The meeting discussed issues related to the field of judicial development that supports the growth of the financial services sector and enhances the Kingdom’s position as an advanced financial center regionally and internationally.

The minister affirmed support for the use of financial mediation in resolving financial and banking disputes as an effective and economical method due to its advantages of speed, flexibility and comprehensiveness in finding consensual solutions to achieve justice.

Al-Maawda referred to efforts to develop legal services to be more responsive to the requirements of economic sectors, and to develop legal specialization in the field of banking and financial dispute settlement, finance and insurance, and to benefit from modern technology in legal development. It works in all its fields.

The Chairman of the Bank’s Board of Directors praised the ministry’s support for the banking sector by facilitating litigation procedures and systems to resolve issues related to financial and banking transactions.
