Justice Ministery, BCCI joint committee hold meeting

Manama, Apr. 10 (BNA): The joint committee between the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a meeting, in the presence of the President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Samir Abdullah Nass, and the Minister of Justice, Nawaf bin Mohammed Al-Maawda.

The meeting discussed issues of common interest in the areas of legal development that support business growth and create an attractive environment for investment.

The minister affirmed his keenness to continue to support the expansion of mediation applications in resolving civil and commercial disputes, which is considered one of the preferred means economically and internationally due to its advantages such as speed, flexibility and lack of effort on the parties to the conflict and their participation in finding it. effective solutions.

He pointed to the continuous interest in developing work in the reorganization and bankruptcy courts in cooperation with the Supreme Judicial Council regarding the mechanism for inclusion in the list of bankruptcy and reorganization trustees, within the framework of implementing initiatives to access justice.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors affirmed the interest of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry to strengthen its role in applying mediation methods to settle disputes between merchants, as it works to activate the Dispute Settlement Center to resolve small commercial disputes, with the aim of supporting the private sector and overcoming the challenges facing merchants in cooperation with the concerned authorities to find common ground. .

He added that the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry will study some important laws such as reorganization and bankruptcy and present its opinions in a way that contributes to advancing economic development.

Nass pointed out that holding such periodic meetings contributes to strengthening the partnership between the public and private sectors, in a way that supports the goals of the comprehensive development process and Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
