Jordan: Cabinet mourns death of officers killed in raid on police colonel’s suspected killer

Amman, Dec. 19 (BNA): The Jordanian Cabinet mourned the death of three police officers who were killed today, Monday, during a raid on a hideout of a man suspected of killing a police colonel while he was on duty in the southern governorate of Ma’an a few days ago. Ago.


The three officers are identified as Cpt. Gaith Rahahleh lit. Moataz Engadah, and Cprl. Jordan News Agency (Petra) Atef Shakarin said.

The main suspect was killed in the raid and several others were arrested, according to a previous statement issued by the Public Security Department.


The Cabinet offered its heartfelt condolences to the families of the officers who “fell in the line of duty in confronting murderers, criminals, saboteurs, and followers of takfiri thought.”


The Cabinet pledged not to tolerate anyone who violates security or assaults security men or public or private property, or exploits any situation to create chaos and intimidate the public.
