President Joe Biden is continuing to test negative after recently recovering from the virus, but he will wear a mask indoors for 10 days as a precaution, the AP reports.
The Bidens have been vacationing in South Carolina since August 10, and the 71-year-old first lady began experiencing symptoms on Monday. Jill Biden, like her husband, has been vaccinated twice and boosted twice with the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
She has been prescribed the antiviral drug baxlovid and will be isolated at the holiday home for at least five days.
“The first lady’s close contacts have been notified,” Elizabeth Alexander, her director of communications, said in a statement, “She is currently residing in a private residence in South Carolina and will return home after receiving two consecutive negative COVID tests.”
