Manama, April 11 (BNA): Investcorp today announced the launch of eLydian Lion, the first dedicated institutional fund in the GCC-based blockchain space with a global investment mandate.
The fund, which will be managed from Investcorp’s office in Abu Dhabi, will be deployed globally and will focus on investments in companies driving the next digital evolution driven by blockchain technology.
It will enable investors to get early exposure to the rapid growth of the blockchain ecosystem, which is at the fore in the digital transformation of the economy.
Investcorp said in a statement that the fund will primarily invest in early stage companies that operate in areas within the blockchain ecosystem such as blockchain infrastructure, platforms and exchanges, decentralized finance and data analytics.
The fund is independent and complementary to Investcorp Technology Partners, Investcorp’s investment strategy focused on low-end technology opportunities in the mid-market.
