Inter’s loss at Bologna leaves race for 2nd place wide open

Rome, Feb. 26 (BNA): The race for second place in Serie A is wide open after Inter Milan lost 1-0 to Bologna on Sunday.

The defeat left Inter 18 points behind runaway leaders Napoli and just three points ahead of Roma and Milan, who are still playing this round, reports the Associated Press.

Riccardo Orsolini took advantage of an Inter defensive error to score midway through the second half for Bologna, who recorded back-to-back home wins over Inter for the first time since 1999.

Bologna dominated the game and had several more chances, as Inter appeared to lack motivation after their 1-0 win over Porto in the Champions League four days earlier.

Milan will host sixth-placed Atalanta later on Sunday, while bottom-placed Roma will visit Cremonese on Tuesday.

Salernitana also beat Silvio Berlusconi’s Monza 3-0 with goals from Lassana Coulibaly, Grigoris Castanos and Antonio Candreva.
