Interior Minister meets US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Political and Military Affairs

Washington, June 29 (BNA) Minister of Interior Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa met with the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Political and Military Affairs, Acting Coordinator of the Counter-Terrorism Office, Timothy Bates.

The US official welcomed the minister’s visit, stressing its importance in developing friendship between the two countries.

He pointed to the continued strengthening of security cooperation and coordination and the exchange of experiences between the two countries, especially in training programs and the latest equipment and technologies.

Bates praised Bahrain’s efforts to combat terrorism and combat all forms of terrorist support and financing.

Sheikh Rashid stressed the efforts of the Ministry of Interior in protecting security and enhancing stability through the development and modernization of security work, combating crimes, developing police operations, and achieving excellence in performance to provide strict security services.

He praised the security cooperation and the level of exchange of experiences between Bahrain and the United States as part of the strategic partnership and strong relations between the two countries.

The meeting reviewed topics of developing cooperation and the importance of joint work in various security fields, including cybersecurity, joint exercises and related memoranda of understanding.
