Interior Minister chairs Ministerial Committee meeting

Manama, August 3 (BNA) Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa chaired here today the meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology.


The Minister of Interior stressed the importance of strengthening efforts to develop government information technology services within the framework of the comprehensive development process. He added that the development comes within the framework of the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.


He pointed to the continued adoption of initiatives to enhance government services, praising the cooperation and coordination between the Information and e-Government Authority and all ministries and government institutions.


The meeting adopted the minutes of the previous meeting and reviewed various topics, including the National Program for Human Resources Development for the Information Technology Sector and the introduction of an organizational entity for technological development.


The committee reviewed the outcomes of the government performance and digital transformation workshop, which was held within the framework of the government’s future priorities workshops. These activities come within the framework of the directives of His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister. The committee decided to refer the recommendations of the workshop to the final workshop to be held later.


The Minister of Interior stressed that developing government performance is a continuous process that is reviewed periodically to ensure continuous development.


He thanked the committee members for their dedication to developing government services for all citizens and residents.
