Interior Minister attends conclusion of joint maritime exercise

Manama, Jan. 6 (BNA) Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa attended today the closing ceremony of the Coast Guard’s joint maritime exercise “Vigilance Guard 10”.

The meeting was attended by Chief of Public Security Lieutenant-General Tariq Al-Hassan, Assistant Chief of Public Security for Operations and Training, Brigadier Dr. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, in charge of commanding coast guard operations.

The exercise was held with the participation of a number of directorates and agencies at the Ministry of Interior to enhance readiness to ensure the protection of maritime safety.

The Minister of Interior was briefed by the Preparation and Oversight Committee on the event scenarios, how to deal with the targeted goals, and the required security and legal measures that demonstrate the ability of joint security work.

The Minister of Interior stressed the importance of protecting regional waters and addressing related challenges by enhancing preparedness and exchanging experiences to enhance maritime safety.

And he valued the efficiency and capabilities of the Coast Guard and its role in achieving security tasks to protect maritime safety.

He directed to continue training and capacity-building in addition to reviewing procedures and implementing such exercises to enhance cooperation between security authorities.

During the event, the Minister of Interior inspected the new fleet of ships equipped with the latest navigation systems.

He was also briefed, in the presence of the Deputy Head of Mission of the UAE Embassy and Commander of the Southwest Asian Patrols of the US Coast Guard, on the advanced security facilities for ships that can enhance the Coast Guard technologically and training. the system.
