Rome, May 23 (BNA): Inter Milan and Fiorentina head into the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday with an eye on the season’s biggest prizes.
Inter play Manchester City in the Champions League final on June 10, three days after Fiorentina faced another Premier League team at West Ham in the Europa League final.
First, they will have to focus on the match at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Inter are looking to defend their Coppa Italia title and maintain their bid for a treble this season under coach Simone Inzaghi, who has a reputation as a cup specialist.
Inzaghi has won six of his previous seven finals as a coach. He led Lazio to the Coppa Italia in 2019 as well as two Italian Super Cups.
He also won two Italian Super Cups with Inter, including beating city rivals Milan this season – as well as the Coppa Italia last year.
Despite Inzaghi’s cup success, the 47-year-old has been under constant pressure this season and has had to grapple with questions about his future, with the team seen as underperforming in the league.
