Information Minister mourns former Bahrain Radio Director

Manama, February 27 (BNA) The Minister of Information, Ali bin Muhammad Al-Rumaihi, mourned the death of the former director of Bahrain Radio, Abdul Rahman Abdullah Al-Ra’i, who passed away after a rich career in the media field.

The Minister of Information paid an honorable greeting to Al-Rai, recalling his good qualities and his services to the homeland, asking God Almighty to have mercy on him, and may God have mercy on him, and to grant his family patience and solace.

Al-Rai joined Bahrain Radio in 1954 and contributed, in cooperation with the late Ibrahim Kanoo, to launching Bahrain Radio from the moment he assumed his duties. He held several positions until a decision was issued on September 24, 1990, appointing him director of Bahrain Radio. Then, a set of development projects were implemented that contributed to the promotion of Bahrain Radio at the local, Gulf and Arab levels. Retired in 2001.

Abdul Rahman Abdullah Al Rai was known for his excellence and creativity in presenting radio topics and programmes. He also expressed a strong desire to use his knowledge and experience to build and train a Bahraini generation capable of bringing the voice of Bahrain to the world.
