Industry Minister chaired 13 WTO meeting

Manama, June 9 (BNA) The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority Zayed bin Rashid Al-Zayani presided over the thirteenth meeting of the World Trade Organization (WTO) national. The committee, in the presence of members and representatives of government agencies and the private sector.

The Minister thanked the participants for their efforts and cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in issues related to the World Trade Organization, and congratulated them for winning the chairmanship of the Preventive Measures Committee, the WTO Subcommittee on Trade in Goods.

Trade implements the Safeguards Agreement and is responsible for monitoring the commitments of members under the agreement, through the appointment of the Commercial Attaché at the Ministry of Trade and International Cooperation, Maryam Abdul Aziz Al Dosari, to the Kingdom’s permanent mission to the United Nations and other organizations in Geneva.

The meeting discussed the Kingdom’s notifications to the World Trade Organization and the review of Bahrain’s fourth trade policies.
