Industry and Commerce Minister visits Alba

Manama, Jan. 29 (BNA): Minister of Industry and Commerce, Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, paid an inspection visit to Aluminum Bahrain (Alba). The session was also attended by Alba’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa, Ali Al-Baqali, Chief Executive Officer of Alba and other officials.

The minister praised the influential role of industrial companies in Bahrain in developing the infrastructure of the national economy, supporting the goals of the industrial sector strategy (2022-2026) and implementing the goals of the Economic Vision 2030.

He said that the launch of the industrial sector strategy (2022-2026) as part of the economic recovery plan aims to strengthen this main promising sector. He pointed out that the strategy targets a number of industries and is in line with the integrated industrial partnership initiative for sustainable economic development between Bahrain, the UAE, Egypt and Jordan.

“This partnership provides opportunities for growth and prosperity, especially the manufacturing industries in the aluminum and petrochemical sectors,” he said, highlighting clean industries, including renewable energy and green and blue hydrogen, which support Bahrain’s commitment to reach zero neutrality by 2060, side by side with food. pharmaceutical and microelectronics industries. The minister toured the company and reviewed the progress of work on the Line 6 smelter project, praising Alba’s position as the largest aluminum smelter in the world.
