iGA chief meets ‘Fikra’ winners

Manama, February 2 (BNA): The Chief Executive Officer of the Information and e-Government Authority, Muhammad Ali Al-Qaed, received in his office at the Isa Town headquarters of the Information and e-Government Authority the winners behind “Nesmak” and “My Container”, two of the three winners. Concepts in the fourth edition of the Government Innovation Competition (Fikra).


The project of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, “Fikra” aims to improve government operations through innovative ideas coming from within government institutions.


The Leader praised the initiative that encourages participants to present projects that enhance productivity and efficiency, improve the quality of services provided to the public, and increase customer satisfaction, as improving capabilities is a key factor in the Kingdom’s continuous development.


Mohammed Abdul Rahim Al Ansari and Syed Ahmed Hamid Ahmed of King Hamad University Hospital showcased their winning concept, ‘My Haiti’, which makes official documents available to individuals through a unified digital application, including digital signatures, QR code scanning and saving features. This makes it available for transactions without having to carry it around. Muhannad Suleiman Al-Nuaimi from the Ministry of Information Affairs presented his project “Nesmaak”, which won the public vote. It provides a video communication platform that translates sign language for the hard of hearing, allowing them to communicate remotely with government agencies, and improving their access to services.


The Leader praised the ideas, especially their dissemination of advanced technologies and digital systems that make them compatible with multiple channels and applications. He stressed the need to adopt pioneering initiatives and study the possibility of implementing them once they are in line with the government’s digital transformation plans.

He wished all the winners and participants more success in providing the government with ideas and projects that benefit the public. The winners thanked the leader for his encouragement and commitment to studying and implementing the most feasible ideas and projects.
