iGA Chief Executive receives UNDP Acting Resident Representative


Manama, May 26 (BNA) The Chief Executive Officer of the Information and eGovernment Authority Muhammad Ali Al Qaed, the Acting Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program in the Kingdom of Bahrain, received Firas Gharaibeh at the authority’s headquarters in Manama. Isa Town. They discussed cooperation in the fields of technology and digital transformation and how it can be used in statistics. The meeting was attended by the Director of Strategic Planning and Projects at the Information and e-Government Authority, Ahmed Asiri, and the Director of Population and Demographic Statistics, Duaa Sultan Al-Harban.

The Leader praised the relationship between the Information and e-Government Authority and the United Nations Development Program, pointing out how to strengthen it through improving the exchange of experiences and working to achieve common goals. He highlighted the journey and strategies of digital transformation in Bahrain, and the efforts made to implement IT initiatives in partnership with other government bodies. He stressed the need to strengthen these projects by integrating national statistics and data, to help achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs).

Gharaibeh expressed his sincere appreciation to the leader for the efforts of the Information and eGovernment Authority and the cooperation between the Kingdom and the United Nations Development Programme, highlighting the pioneering role that the authority plays in the digital transformation in Bahrain.
