Your main responsibilities
You will lead the successful delivery of indirect tax engagements, taking a professional, practical and business approach and ensuring technical excellence.
You will manage large VAT implementation teams comprising of client functional experts and consulting professionals, identifying opportunities in the market and leading to the development of our commercial offer to existing and new clients.
You will build and maintain tax relationships with our clients, advise on how indirect taxes such as Value Added Tax (VAT) or Goods and Services Tax (GST) affect customers’ supply chain, financial and accounting systems, identify and address areas of risk, advise clients on tax implications for international trade and assisting them in complying with customs regulations.
Success skills and attributes
If you have strong teaching skills in developing peers and conducting internships, have a strong drive for professional excellence, good advisory and writing skills, dedicated, innovative, broad-minded, able to work under pressure and a team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills, you would be ideal for this role.
To qualify for the role you must have
– Degree in economics, finance, taxation or accounting
Relevant Master’s degree or CPA or ACA/CA/CPA/CMA/SOCPA/statutory qualification/CTA or equivalent tax qualification
At least 6 years of relevant experience as an indirect tax professional
Work experience in a large accounting firm 4 preferred. However, we will consider candidates from law firms or with relevant industry experience
– Customs duty advisory experience is preferable, but we will also consider candidates with VAT/GST advisory experience
– Excellent English language presentation and writing skills.
Ideally, you will also have
– Experience working in multicultural teams
– Strong organizational, project management and analysis skills.
Strong drive for professional excellence, directing and motivating others
Coordination and prioritization skills
Independent in workload management, ability to work under pressure and keep things moving and juggle multiple tasks
– Experience in managing teams
– Fluency in Arabic is preferred
