Manama, May 8 (BNA): His Majesty’s Deputy, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, received at Gudaibiya Palace today the Chief Justice of the Republic of Singapore, His Excellency Sundarsh Menon.
His Highness stressed the importance of advancing the judicial system in the Kingdom to enhance the role of the Kingdom of Bahrain in commercial arbitration, in line with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
His Highness the Deputy King affirmed the pivotal role of international arbitration institutions in supervising the smooth running of arbitration procedures.
His Royal Highness acknowledged the importance of cooperation and exchange of experiences between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Singapore in settling commercial disputes, which would help develop the judicial system in the Kingdom in line with international best practices.
His Highness concluded his speech by wishing Mr. Sundaresh Menon a happy stay in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
For his part, the Honorable Sundaresh Menon thanked His Royal Highness for his warm welcome, noting that the close cooperation between the two countries helped achieve common aspirations.
The Honorable Sundarsh Menon wished the kingdom further progress and prosperity.
Deputy President of the Supreme Judicial Council, President of the Court of Cassation, His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and Minister of Cabinet Affairs, His Excellency Hamad bin Faisal Al-Maliki. The meeting was also attended.
