Manama, May 16 (BNA) The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, met today at Al-Qudaibiya Palace the Minister of Oil of the Republic of Iraq, Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail.
His Highness the Deputy King stressed the importance of the oil and gas sector as a means of economic diversification that helps achieve development goals.
His Royal Highness received His Excellency Ismail in the Kingdom of Bahrain, where he is scheduled to participate in the 29th Annual Middle East Petroleum and Gas Conference.
His Highness pointed to the strength of relations between Bahrain and Iraq and the importance of continuing to develop relations, especially in the oil and gas industry, to achieve common development goals.
His Highness the Viceroy also expressed his desire for the conference to contribute to overcoming global oil and gas challenges.
For his part, His Excellency Ismail expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet His Royal Highness, and affirmed His Highness’ commitment to strengthening relations between Bahrain and Iraq.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, and a number of senior officials.
