HRH the Deputy King meets with Fikra finalists and winners

Manama, Feb. 9 (BNA): His Majesty’s Deputy, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, received today the 12 finalists of the fifth edition of the Government Innovation Competition “Fikra”, at Gudaibiya Palace.

His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of investing in Bahraini citizens, who represent the Kingdom’s greatest wealth, and remain an integral part of the Kingdom’s comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

His Highness stressed the importance of supporting creativity and innovation among Bahraini citizens so that they can contribute creative solutions to overcome various challenges and turn them into future opportunities.

His Highness pointed out that Bahrain’s achievements came as a result of the efforts of the national cadres in the Kingdom, who are committed to being an active partner in Bahrain’s development and growth.

His Highness emphasized the role played by an idea in instilling a culture of creativity and innovation in the public sector, indicating how the results of previous creative initiatives and projects had a positive impact on the development of government work paths.

His Highness also indicated the importance of continuing to introduce and adopt more initiatives aimed at stimulating innovation and competitiveness in the public sector.

His Highness congratulated the finalists for reaching the final stage of the competition and passing all evaluation stages, noting their outstanding presentations of various creative ideas, wishing them continued success in their careers and in achieving their goals.

His Royal Highness honored the winners of the Fikra Award and expressed his hope that their ideas would contribute to the development process in the Kingdom and Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, and thanked the people of Bahrain for their efforts and dedication.

For their part, the winners expressed their appreciation for His Highness’s commitment to supporting and encouraging national cadres and involving them in initiatives and projects that contribute to the development of government performance, and the consolidation of a culture of creativity and innovation in government work tracks.

The twelve eligible concepts were selected through a comprehensive evaluation process, which combined evaluation by a panel of government ministers and public voting.

The winning concepts were: ‘Ambulance Motorcycle (Rapid Responder), presented by Fayez Bassam Shamekh Fayez Al Shamikh, from the Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa Specialized Heart Center, and ‘Legislation Laboratory’, presented by Abdulaziz Abdullah Rashid Abdullah Al Mawaddah. Meanwhile, “Teacher Assessment 360” presented by Noura Ibrahim Rashid Al-Jowder, Sheikha Sanad Ibrahim Sanad Ali Al-Fadala, Muhammad Abdul-Nabi Salman Al-Awainati and Latifa Khalid Juma Ibrahim Juma Al-Dawy won from the Ministry of Education.

In addition to the three winners, the other qualifying concepts were:

Nurseries from Hamad Ali Abdullah Issa, Sheikh Mohammed Hamad Mohammed Abdullah Al Khalifa, and Hessa Barakat Abdullah Al-Binali from the Ministry of Interior.

The meeting was also attended by His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Charitable and Educational Fund, and senior officials.
