Manama, Jan. 6 (BNA) His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Prime Minister, received today the Commander of the Central Command of the US Naval Forces and Commander of the US Fifth Fleet. Combined Maritime Forces Commander Major General Charles B. Cooper II at Riffa Palace.
His Royal Highness, Vice Admiral Cooper, welcomed Vice Admiral Cooper and noted the strength of the long-standing strategic relationship between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America, which is based on common interests. His Highness stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination, especially in military and defense matters, for the benefit of the two countries and their peoples. His Highness also praised the effective role of the United States in promoting security and stability in the region and in pursuit of world peace.
During the meeting, a number of issues of common interest and the latest regional and international developments were reviewed.
The meeting was also attended by the Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the Minister of Interior, Major General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
