Manama, January 24 (BNA) His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today received the President of the United Nations General Assembly, His Excellency Abdullah Shahid, at Al-Qudaibiya Palace.
His Highness highlighted the importance of *continuous international cooperation* with the United Nations to enhance development efforts.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to achieving the comprehensive development goals set by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister welcomed the visit of His Excellency the martyr to the Kingdom of Bahrain, wishing him and the accompanying delegation a pleasant stay.
His Highness referred to the prominent role of the United Nations General Assembly in facing global challenges and its work to support international peace and security.
Relevant issues of common interest, the latest international developments, and ways to enhance international cooperation in confronting COVID-19 were discussed.
For his part, His Excellency Shahid expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet His Royal Highness.
His Excellency Shahid noted the commitment of His Royal Highness and Bahrain to work with international organizations such as the United Nations.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, and Minister of Finance and National Economy Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.
